In an effort to get the forums a little more jumpin', we are going to have a new forum topic called "Waterfowl Community News". It will be a place to post & discuss outside news articles and topics that are of interest to waterfowl hunting enthusiasts like you all.
I've decided that you, not me, would be a much better judge of what interests people who visit and utilize this site, and so I am looking for a Moderator of this new forum. Moderators of the Waterfowl News Forum would have the following responsibilites:
- Find and Post stories/topics of interest to the forum on a regular basis (1-3 articles a week)
- Monitor Forum to keep them on-topic (deleting, moving, or modifying posts that violate the board policy)
- Generally just be our eyes and ears for the forum and let us know how you think it is working, and how to improve it.
I am looking for one, maybe two moderators for this forum. All Members (paid and unpaid) can apply, although a paid member will get added consideration since paying for the membership indicates a dedication to the site. Moderators will get a free membership as long as they hold the job, and a free duckstrap.
In addition to the Waterfowl news topics being displayed in the forum area of the site, the latest news items will also appear on the front page.
Apply by replying to this topic telling us what qualities you think make up a good board moderator and how you embody these qualities. Also tell us something about your level of enthusiasm/knowledge for duck/geese hunting, number of years hunting, etc. List any previous experience moderating other discussion boards too. We may have members vote to see who becomes moderator, so dust off your politician's hat!
I hope to have this new feature up by the end of December to give you an idea of when the "job" would start.
